The basics

What is Nailly?

Nailly is an app where you design your exact nail set — shape, length, colours, french tips, finishes and art on every finger — try it on a photo of your own hand, and then get it made by a real artist: post the design to your city's “Who can make this?” board, chat with the artists who claim it, get a quote and book. Artists get a full studio of their own: kit setup, chair QR invites, client requests, booking statuses, waitlists, refill reminders, private client notes and Salon Mode.

How do I show my nail artist exactly what I want?

Design the set in Nailly instead of collecting screenshots. Your design is a precise per-finger recipe — shape, length, colours, tips, finishes, art — that you can send to an artist on Nailly or show to any tech at the chair using Salon Mode. It reads like notes from another professional, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Is there an app that lets me try nail designs on my own hands?

Yes — that is exactly what Nailly does. You take one photo of your hand and the app renders any design onto your actual nails, with your skin tone and your proportions. The photo is processed entirely on your phone and is never uploaded.

Where is Nailly available?

Nailly is built for the United States and Canada, in English, and is coming to the App Store. The city boards grow as artists in each city join.

Can I use Nailly if my nail tech isn't on it?

Yes. Design your set, try it on your hand, then open Salon Mode at your appointment — it shows any tech the exact per-finger recipe, no account needed on their side. If they like it, your chair has a QR code waiting for them the other way around, too.

Designing & try-on

What nail shapes and lengths can I design with?

Eight shapes — almond, oval, round, square, squoval, coffin, ballerina and stiletto — and four lengths from short to XL. Shape and length apply to the whole hand, the way a real set does.

What finishes does Nailly have?

Glossy, chrome, glazed, milky and matte — applied per nail, so you can mix a matte set with a single chrome accent finger, or keep everything soft and milky.

Can I design each finger differently?

Yes. Colours, finishes, french tips, stickers, lettering and freehand art are all placed per finger. Shape and length stay consistent across the hand, because that is how an artist actually sculpts a set.

Does the try-on use my real hand?

Yes — a photo of your actual hand, taken in the app. Designs render onto your real nail beds so you see the set on your skin tone and your finger shape, not on a model's stock photo.

What happens to my hand photo?

It stays on your phone. Try-on rendering happens on-device; hand photos are never uploaded to our servers, never shared with artists automatically, and never used to train anything. A photo leaves your phone only if you yourself choose to share or send it.

Will I lose my designs if I lose my phone?

No. Nailly uses real accounts, and your designs, saved looks, boards, chats and booking records are backed up to your account. Sign in on a new phone and your work follows you. (Hand photos are the exception — they live only on your device, on purpose.)

Booking an artist

What happens after I post to the “Who can make this?” board?

Artists in your city see your design on the board. When one who can make it claims it, you chat directly in the app — ask questions, get a quote for exactly that set, and agree the appointment together.

Do I pay for my appointment through Nailly?

No. The price and payment for the nail service itself are agreed directly between you and the artist, like any salon visit. Nailly is the design and the introduction — we do not take a cut of your set.

How does Nailly know my city?

You can simply type it. If you prefer, grant location access once and a single GPS reading determines your city on the phone — the reading itself never leaves your device. Location permission is never required.

For artists

I'm a nail artist — what do I get?

A studio: your kit (clients design within your real tools and colours), a personal QR invite code for your chair, incoming requests with the full design attached, booking statuses, waitlists, refill reminders when clients' sets hit the three-week window, private client notes, and Salon Mode for the appointment itself. Artist membership is $29.99/month after the free week.

What is the Artist Kit?

Your declared set of colours, finishes and techniques. Linked clients design within it, and Nailly warns them before sending a design that drifts outside it — so every request that reaches you is one you can actually make.

What is Salon Mode?

A chair-side view that turns any design into an explicit per-finger recipe — shape, length, exact colours, tips, finishes and art placement, in working order. Any tech can follow it, even one who has never used Nailly.

How do refill reminders work? Do they spam my clients?

No spam. Nailly tracks when each client's set was done and nudges you — the artist — as it approaches the roughly three-week refill window, with a one-tap invite to bring them back. Notifications are generated locally on the device and every category can be switched off.

What does the chair QR code do?

It links a client to your studio in one scan. Linked clients design inside your kit, send sets straight to you, appear in your client list with history and notes — and their membership drops from $19.99 to $9.99 a month because they joined on your invite.

Pricing & account

How much does Nailly cost?

Every account starts with a free week with full access, tied to your email. After that: customers pay $19.99/month — or $9.99/month if they joined with an artist's invite — and artists pay $29.99/month. You always see the exact price before paying, and appointments themselves are paid to your artist, not to us.

How does the free week work?

Your first week is free with everything unlocked. It is tied to your email address, so deleting and re-creating an account does not restart it — that keeps it fair for everyone.

How do I cancel my membership?

Memberships are billed through the app marketplace you installed Nailly from, under your existing account there. Manage or cancel anytime in that marketplace's subscription settings; cancelling at least 24 hours before the period ends stops the renewal.

Does Nailly sell my data or show ads?

No and no. No advertising, no sale of personal data, no third-party analytics trackers, no AI training on your content. Nailly makes money from memberships — that is the whole business model.

How do I delete my account and data?

Settings → Delete account & all data. It permanently deletes your account on our servers — profile, backup, everything — then erases the data on your device. If our servers cannot be reached, nothing is deleted anywhere, so you are never left half-deleted.
