Micro French

A French manicure with a hairline tip band of one to two millimetres. Also called: Baby French, skinny French.

The micro French shrinks the classic white band to a bright line tracing the free edge — the clean-hands signal of a French without the retro weight. It is the French for short natural nails (a classic band would eat half the nail) and the one whose grow-out is nearly invisible.

Tip depth is now a specified choice, not an accident: micro (1–2mm), classic (the natural free edge), or deep (a third of the nail or more). Say the word and the set changes character entirely.
